Grade 1
Novices walkers.
Terrain: Easy walks along paths.
Daily Distance: 5-8 miles (8-13km)
Average Daily Ascent: Less than 1000ft (300m)
Daily Walking Time: 4-6 hours (plus stops)
 
Grade 2
Fit novices or anyone with active lifestyle.
Terrain: Moderate, mainly pathed with some off path walking.
Aver Daily Distance: 8-12 miles (13-20km)
Aver Daily Ascent: Up to 1500ft (450m)
Daily Walking Time: 5-7 hours (plus stops)
 
Grade 3
Fit novices, regular hill walkers / hikers, reasonable fitness.
Terrain: Hill acents, Longish varied paths or None pathed hills.
Aver Daily Distance: 8-14 miles (13-22km)
Aver Daily Ascent: Up to 2500ft (770m)
Daily Walking Time: 6-8 hours (plus stops)

Grade 4
Regular hill walkers / hikers, good fitness.  Fit novices - please ask.
Terrain: A mix of pathed & rough hill terrain.
Average Daily Distance: 8-14 miles (13-22km)
Average Daily Ascent: Up to 4000ft (1250m)
Daily Walking Time: 6-9 hours (plus stops)
