Winter Skills Day Course & Summer Skills day Course Grade: 3-4

This course is ideal for the mountain walker wishing to learn to move around the winter hills safely; an essential for hillwalking in winter.

Courses location: Northern Cairngorms.
Other locations available on request.

Itinerary:

Meet at the Venue (Cairngorm ski car park)
1 days instruction. (with a qualified Winter Mountain Leader )
Learn to move around the winter hills safely.
Safe movement on snow slopes.
Use of ice axe for support and arresting a slip.
Step kicking and cutting.
Fitting and walking in crampons.
Winter skills: equipment, winter hazards, terrain, snow structure and avalanche awareness.
Practical day on the hill, so please have suitable winter clothing & equipment.

Maximum number per instructor: 6
Price: person per day: £50. Minimum client number: 3 or £150/day

For the best learning experience, Scotpeak suggests at least 3-5 day's training, this will improve your skills and consolidate your ability.
